Dear Friends,
As many of you know, a number of us lost a good friend in 2003 when Juan Gil was tragically involved in a fatal automobile accident. Juan was an intelligent, hard working, and caring individual. He made no enemies and brought only joy to those around him. He was a good son who spent the last years of his life by his father’s side as he fought against cancer. Roberto Gil, Juan’s father, was a wonderful person who loved his family. To everyone’s dismay, he lost a long battle with cancer in 2004. And although father and son have now been reunited and are able to get back to trading fishing stories and cheering on the Buccaneers, they are deeply missed.
I would like to extend a special invitation to my friends, Roberto and Juan Gil, to honor these two individuals on the weekend of October 2nd - 4th by joining us in beautiful Boca Grande, FL to participate in the GIL MEMORIAL CLASSIC in their memory. The weekend begins with a captain’s meeting with free food and drinks sponsored by La Segunda and Levin Financial Group on the night of October 2nd, followed by two full days of fishing (3rd, 4th).
Winner will be determined by the aggregate weight of two slot snook, two slot reds, and four trout. So save the dates and stay tuned for further notice. Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you know who may be interested in participating in this year’s event, or just send us their contact information and we’ll take care of it.
